2025 Rules

Mini Van/SUV/Mini Truck

Any mini van/SUV/mini truck allowed. (NO 2004 and newer Dodge Dakotas and Durango)

Frames

Absolutely NO welding unless stated below… Core support must be in stock location. May be shortened to core support.

Bumper

Any automotive bumper is allowed except Chrysler pointy bumpers. Seam welded or loaded is ok OR can use 4” max. diameter tubing. May have 1” point from back or and must expand at least 24” across the front. 4”X 4”X 4” tubing OR 6” max. bumper brackets welded to the frame.

Hood

6 locations of chain or 9wire (4 strands) OR 4” piece of 2”X2” angle iron welded to fender & hood with ½” bolt. ¾” rod for front hood bolts is ok welded to side of frame or through the core support mount. If choosing this way, then you get 4 locations of the above option.

Steering

After-market column is ok. All other steering and suspension parts must remain stock for vehicle!

Engine/Transmission/Radiator

Any engine can be used. Lower cradle is ok. No distributor protector, coil protectors, or transmission brace. Must have factory bell housing and tail shaft. May use 2” x 2” tubing for cross-member. Transmission cooler is allowed. Radiator must remain in factory location. No barrels or protectors! Engine may mount with a 6” mounting pad. Lower mounts must be rubber style and motor must be bolted in. Headers, after-market shifter, switch panel, and slider are ok.

Cage

6” max. door bar behind the seat is MANDATORY! Dash bar is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Side bars no farther back than front of rear wheel tub. Rollover bar can be connected to floor or cage and belted in 2 spots with ½” bolt. 2 windshield bars are MANDATORY! 2” diameter or 2” max. flat strap mounted within 4” of windshield opening.

Doors

Driver’s door can be welded solid. Door skins are allowed 3” max. past door seam. All other doors may be chained or welded shut 3 spots per seam with 4 strands OR you can weld 12” total per vertical door seam (Same for rear hatch or tailgate)

Tires

Any tire may be used. No split-rims. Small centers and bead protectors are ok.

Suspension

All suspension must remain stock for the vehicle. May weld a 4”x4” plate to the A-arm for height or spring spacer. May chain down. Min. bumper height is 18” with the max. being 27”. Total of 4 leaf clamps per pack.

Body

No body creasing.

Body mounts

Body mounts must remain sock. If rusty you can fix with ½” bolt or chain around the frame.

Fuel Cell/Battery

Fuel cell must be in the back seat area or front center of box. If fuel injected, still get high pressure line. Tank must be covered and line must be secured. 2 batteries max. located on front passenger floor and must be covered.

Rear-end

Rear-end may be swapped. Pinion brake is ok. 5 lug only if swapped.

Repairs

No plates on fresh vehicle. 12” of plate total per frame rail. MUST BE ON A BEND! (Not a stress mark and a factory bend DOES NOT count) Any rust repair please call!

2025 RULES

LIMITED WELD FULLSIZE

1. All cars MUST be stock, unless modification is stated in the rules. NO IMP parts allowed. 03 and newer MUST remain stock and ONLY stock oem parts allowed.

2. All glass, plastic, chrome, and interior must be removed from car before arriving to the derby.

3. All decking in station wagons MUST be removed!!!

4. No split rims, No studded tires. Foam filled or Doubled tires are OK!!! Valve stem protectors are OK. Tires MAY be screwed to rims. 1” bead savers are allowed.

5. Driver MUST wear a fire coat or non-flammable jacket while driving in event.

6. Driver MUST have safety glasses or face shield.

7. You MUST use a radiator NO RAD barrels allowed and it must be in stock location. All cars. MUST have working brakes.

8. All trailer hitches and braces MUST be removed.

9. Original gas tanks MUST be removed. You may use a boat tank or well made fuel cell and it must be properly secured (NO BUNGIES) and covered. NO gas cans, NO Plastic gas tanks. Place gas tank behind driver’s seat or in the center of the car where the back seat use to be.

10. Transmission coolers ARE allowed, but MUST BE safe and properly secured (NO BUNGIES).

11. Batteries MUST be moved to passenger floorboard close to transmission. It MUST BE properly secured and covered (NO BUNGIES -and can only be connected to the floor, NO place else).

12. You MUST have a roof sign 15”x 15” with car number on it for judging and recognition of car.

CAR BUILDING:

1. NO welding will be allowed on any part of the body or frame. The only welding allowed is in the below rules. IF your car is found with any weld, other then what’s allowed, YOU WILL NOT RUN!!

2. Doors may be chained, wired, bolted, cabled or welded shut and must be sheet metal to sheet metal. Welding will be Outside of doors only. You may weld 5 inches, skip 5 inches, weld 5 inches, etc. Use NO bigger than 3 inch wide x 3/8” thick material for welding doors shut. Drivers door only may be weld shut inside and outside solidly with no bigger then 3” strap material.

3. For driver’s protection, YOU MUST weld a bar behind the seat from doorpost to doorpost, NO bigger then 6” material. It can be an X, you may also have a bar across your dash, you may connect the dash bar to bars behind seat across the inside of front door only, you may also weld your steering column in, you can also weld a plate across the driver’s door NOT to exceed 6 inches past each seam. You may have a roll over bar behind the seat, which may be welded to the top of the frame or the floor and welded or bolted to the roof – no kickers going to the back or front of the car. Back of cage including roll bar, can only be in front of body mount behind back seat. Mopars can only be in front of spring mount. You will be allowed 2- 4x4x¼” down bars on the inside on driver’s and passenger’s door going down from the inside cross bar. Down bars must be behind inside of front door interior seam or will be cut out. Welded to top of frame ONLY, AND NO ADDED METAL!!!!

GAS TANK PROTECTOR:

Gas Tank Protector must be NO wider then 24inches across the back- 6inch tall on back with 1 inch gap between all sheet metal around back side of gas tank protector. Tank Protector can only be attached to back seat bar with nothing attaching up or down to body/frame/ cage.

You MAY gusset to back seat bar only. MUST be 4 inches off floor and stay BELOW where speaker deck attaches to floor! You are allowed a loop up off your gas tanks protector, but must be straight up and not angled. Nothing higher up then 4 inches above gas tank. Loop can’t attach to anything but the tank protector.

NO BACK WINDOW BAR ALLOWED.

******YOU MUST HAVE A BAR/PIPE FROM DOOR POST TO DOOR POST WELDED MINIMUM, IN ORDER TO RUN.

BUMPERS:

Bumpers are interchangeable. Any Automotive bumper and bumper brackets may be used on any car. Homemade bumpers will be allowed, you can only use a flat square or round tube NO bigger than 5 inches (5x5 square or 5inch round). You may use a replica. Tubing CANNOT be any wider than the car fenders, And MUST remain flat. You may trim bumper ends or fold them around. Bumpers and brackets may be welded solid. Bracket are interchangeable from car to car. If you don’t use the factory front brackets to the car, YOU WILL BE LIMITED to a 14 inch bracket from end of frame. Brackets CAN NOT be longer than 14 inches in length or can be shortened but you CAN’T stretch out brackets to make longer. If you don’t use a factory bumper bracket you may use a 4inch X 14 inch long 3/8 thick flat plate. This plate MUST BE welded to the bumper. The bumper plate can only be welded on the outside of the frame and can only follow the frame, NO shaping OR wrap of plate. Bumpers may be stuffed inside of Original bumper only. Bracket can be welded solid but can ONLY be welded to 1 side of the frame, don’t wrap bracket unless it came out factory that way. NO Brackets may be stuffed inside of the frame rail.

You may have 4 spots wire or 3/8 chain from front bumper to radiator support, 4 spots from rear bumper to trunk lid. Front brackets on front only!!! Front Bumpers can NOT be any higher than 30 inches from top center. Rear Bumpers can NOT be lower than 18 Inches from top center of bumper. Frame must remain straight for bumper measurement. This rule is to help cut down of the issue of roll over and safety of this issue.

HOOD/TRUNKS:

**Hoods MUST HAVE at least a 12-inch square hole cut out in case of fire. You will be allowed 8 spots to hold the hood down (bolts, chain or wire); you MUST have at least 4 spots holding hood down- hood hinges don’t count! You may have up to 1” all thread –2 may be used from the hood down to the frame, but MUST GO THROUGH the front body mounts. Chrysler products may run all thread behind radiator support down to top of frame and be welded to top of frame with NO added material – All thread may pass thru frame. Hood hold down spots MUST BE sheet metal to sheet metal only. Hood must be open for inspection. Plates for hood bolts CAN NOT exceed 5x5x1/2 inch. Hood bolts can be up to 1 inch in diameter. Only allowed 8 spots total to hold down hood chain- wire- bolts- etc. You are allowed 12- 3/8” blots to bolt hood skins together. You can fold hoods or trunk decks over but 50% of the hood or trunk lid must be in factory location. Dishing of the trunk is allowed but MUST be 6 inch off floor. Tucking of roofs are allowed but only on factory coil spring wagons. Can tuck roof to top of rear quarter panels. You may chain/wire roof to top of rear quarter panels in 2 spots on each side.

2 - 1” All-thread may go from the trunk lid to frame, if you go threw the body mount hole thru the frame you MUST have a spacer between body and frame, otherwise you may weld to the side of the frame only with all-thread. You may use wire in 2 spots with 4 loops from trunk lid and may go around the frame with the wire. CAN’T DO BOTH. Trunk lids and tailgates may be welded but only in factory location. NO welding of tucked area or NO welding of sheet metal folded over trunk lid. You can weld 5 inches skip 5 inches using no bigger than 3 inch wide materials.

BODY MOUNTS:

Body mounts MUST remain stock, and NO adding of body mounts. You can replace the bolt with ½ inch bolt, bolt must be up inside of frame as factory with nothing up inside frame except 1- 2X2X1/4” thick washer then a nut and a 2X2X1/4” thick washer on top of floor. YOU may use a solid mount between body and frame. The mount spacer can’t be bigger than 2X2 and must be 1 ¼” tall pipe or tubing. NO welding of body mount spacers. Nothing can’t act like a gusset of any kind!! Radiator support spacer can be welded either to top of frame or to bottom of radiator support body/sheet metal. If you use all-thread in hood or trunk, the body mount rubber may be replaced with a steel body mount same thickness as factory rubber mount- 1 ¼ inch Radiator support spacer CAN NOT be any taller than 6 inches.

SUSPENSION:

Suspension MUST be all stock. Leaf springs MUST be stock, Stock springs ONLY! 2 inch stagger in back of rear end and a 1 inch stagger on the front of rearend on all leaf springs. You can put spacers in sagging coil springs to get your height. You can loop chain or wire from rear end or springs to frame in 2 spots on each side. No bigger then #9 wire or 3/8”chain or cable may be used. You may double your coil springs. Leaf spring cars will be allowed 6 clamps on each spring pack. The clamps may be home-made. Home-made clamps CAN NOT be larger than 2 inch wide by 5 inches long. NO more than 9 leaf springs in any car! This includes tow package springs! Front A-arms will be allow 2 - 2” X 2” straps. 1 strap on front side of A-arm and 1- strap on back side of A-arm. Must be welded to the SIDE of the frame only. Straps can be ¼” thick. You may use 1 loop of 3/8” chain around frame and over A-arm. No welding. Not to be excessive with loop of chain as the loop of chain can only be on 1 side of the A-arm!

STEERING:

Tie rods, A arms, Ball joints and all other steering / suspension MUST REMAIN STOCK. Steering column may be changed to aftermarket shafts, steering knuckles, homemade steering shafts, .Rear end control arms may be replaced with Tubing 3/8 walled. Tubing control arms must be mounted with a bolt no larger than ½ size. Tubing control arms cannot be welded in, no relocating of mounting brackets, etc. 98-02 fords may use a bolt in upper tray for top control arms or weld a 3x3 square tube to factory tray to bolt upper control arms too and may weld a factory bottom bracket or 3X3 square tube on the driveshaft side of frame in factory location for lower control arms. You may use any braced rear end along with 8 lug rear ends. After market axles and axle savers may be used as well. You can use a spool inside the rear end to make posi-track. You can swap out rear ends from a different car, but must mount to factory rear brackets of the car only. You may change rears from one car to another. Gm to ford, Ford to Gm, Mopar to Gm, etc. Rear end or Rear end bracing may NOT act like a gusset to frame or car! Head Inspector will have final say on this! etc ARE allowed. May change steering but MUST bolt to factory steering parts. 03 AND NEWER You may swap spindles, a arms ONLY a direct fit, NO homemade parts or brackets. MUST be factory OEM parts from a legal car. MUST run factory rack and pinion steering.

ENGINE MOUNTING:

Engine mounts may be welded to engine cradle. Engine must be mounted in stock location. You may use a front lower engine cradle mount to mount your engine. Motor mount pads may have one bolt hole in cross member and 8” of weld on frame, MUST be a flat plate NO wider then 8” x 3/8 inch think,( plate may not wrap frame MUST sit on top and be between cradle bolts. This plate is for you to weld your lower mount to). NO full cradle will be allowed!!! Use motor and tranny of choice, 03 and NEWER MUST use factory aluminum cross member. Motor MUST be in stock location. You may chain or weld motor and tranny to keep in place (don’t strengthen the frame). You MUST use a factory cross member or a 2” X 2” tubing welded to frame with nothing else added for mounting transmission. 03 and NEWER MUST use factory aluminum cross member. NO shaping of cross members and NO using cross member as a gusset!! This can be out of another car. Tranny cross members must mount in factory location for the car only! NO Tranny Braces, NO steel bells or steel tail housings. You may have 2-3/8” chains from the motor head to frame and you may weld 1 link of chain to top of frame under motor only next to A-arm on front side of motor.

FENDERS:

You may cut wheel wells for tire clearance. Fenders may also be bolted together with 12-3/8” bolts or less. The rear quarter panel is considered part of the rear fender. For safety, ** Hardtop cars may have a 4 inch wide strap welded at the door post to the roof. You MUST have 2 bars, wires or chains in windshield from roof to dash for safety reasons.

MISC.:

You can run shifter through floor and you can have a switch panel. You may also have a hand throttle. If you are running an electric fuel pump – must be hooked up to your ignition switch – so when your car shuts off – it shuts off. You are allowed 2 spots with 4 loops of wire in each window opening and may go to the frame. No welding washers around holes on car body. You may run wire from frame rail to frame rail underneath back of car, behind rear-end with 4 loops of wire or 1 loop of 3/8 chain/cable in 1 spot only. This must go around the frame, this CAN NOT be bolted to the frame. NO Distributor cap protectors or Full cradles!! YOU are allowed a distributor clamp, front lower cradle and pulley protector, sway bar must NOT be in contact with pulley protector at anytime. Gas tank protector are allowed, no wider than 24 inches, must be at least 2” away from rear sheet metal. It must run straight back from rear seat bar in center of car and must be 4” off the floor. Gas tank can’t be connected to protector unless gas tank is mounted to top of protector and not to floor. Protector must be free floating- NOT connected to anything but back bar! Aftermarket gas pedal and brake pedals are allowed as long as not used to re-enforce car!!!! Must be mounted to cage or body. Not to frame or used as a gusset to reinforce the car in any way. No frame shaping except to beating in the sides only of rear arches over tires. Nothing else. Body shaping is allowed but NO double rolling of body lines. No bolting, welding, wiring, etc of body lines. Trunk can be dished but MUST be 6” off the floor. You must have 2 bars or wires from roof to dash in windshield for safety. Window bars can only be 3 inches wide with 5 inches on roof and 5 inches on dash. Sliding Drive shafts ARE allowed along with a pinion brake. Pinion Brake can only have 1 strap welded to rear end tubes on each side but must be welded next to center carrier only!! No gussets off straps!! Cold bending of frames will be allowed, YOU MAY NOT plate where you cold bent frame! You may cut of front frame rails, but the factory body mount bracket/hole in frame must be there completely. No relocating any part of frame, suspension, body mounts, etc. Body creasing is allowed, no double rolling of creases. Trunks can be dished but must be able to see inside trunk area completely.

RUST REPAIR & FRAME REPAIR:

You may repair rusted out sheet metal with sheet metal only. Leave the rust in place and repair over it. Rusted out frames may be repaired with 3/16 inch or less. You are allowed to weld the patch 2 inches past the rusted out area, leave the rust in place. Re-stubbing of frames must be same make/model. 70’s to 70’s, 80’s to 80’s, etc. Gm to Gm, Mopar to Mopar, etc. NO IMP SUBS, No caddy frames or stubs under NON Caddy cars!!!!!! You will be allowed to butt weld the frame together then wrap the frame where welded with a 1 inch wide 1/8th inch strap completely around the weld. No cutting of frame or frame seams and re-weld frame in place as a repair!!! Must be behind tranny cross member. Bent frames only may be repaired with 4” X 6”- 1/4” thick flat plate. You are only allowed 6 plates total on driver’s and 6 total of Passenger’s side of car. This counts for the front and rear of car together. The plates may be welded solid and can be rolled over to 2 side to the frame but must remain flat with no shaping of plates. You must have a 1/2 inch hole in the patch. You can only repair the frame once in each place. No re-patching or layering of patches. Plates must have a 1” space between plates. If you are found with a plate on a NON-BENT area, you’ll have to cut all repair plates off in order to run event.

Be fair to us. It’s driver’s responsibility to show inspectors the bend in the frame!

No repairs at the events! You must repair after event and then run another event. Fresh cars will be allowed 2- repair plates to start . 2 plates on each side of the car total.

2025 Rules

Stock Midsize Class

Any 4 Cylinder or V6

Any Front Wheel Drive Car with 111” wheelbase or less.

Frame

May shorten frame to the core support. No moving core support.

Bumper

4” max. tubing(bumper). May build a 1” point from back of tubing. Must expand 24” across front. Any automobile bumper may be used except Chrysler point bumpers (safety reasons). Seam welded is ok. Bumper may be welded of bolted. May use 3”X 3”X 4” tubing OR 6” bumper bracket.

Hood

Hood may be chained or wired in 4 spots or may use 2- ¾” threaded rod at core support. May pass through frame or welded to side. If you choose to bolt front, you only get 2 spots to chain or wire. ALL HOODS MUST BE OPEN FOR INSPECTION !!!!!

Steering

After-market column is ok. All other steering components must remain stock.

Engine

All mounts must stay stock. Carburetor swap is ok. No carburetor protector. Simplified harness is ok. Tuned ECM is ok. Headers are allowed. After-market shifter is ok. Starter switches are ok. Radiator must be in stock location. No barrels or protectors. Transmission coolers are ok.

Cage

6” max. door bar is MANDATORY! Dash bar is Highly Recommended. Side bars are allowed. Can go back to front of rear wheel well. Gas tank protector is allowed. Must stay in the car. No higher than the rear speaker deck. Roll over bar can be connected to the floor or cage and bolted in 2 spots to the roof with 1/2“ bolts. 2 windshield bars are Mandatory (2” diameter or flat steel max. mounted within 4” of window opening.)! No rear window bars.

Doors

Driver’s door can be welded solid. Can have door skin no farther than 3” past seam. All other doors can be chained or wired in 2 spots per seam (4 strands of wire) OR can be welded 12” total per vertical door seam.

Trunk

May be tucked 50%. Chained or wired shut (2 spots per seam). May be dished 4”.

Body

No creasing and tail light panel must stay upright.

Suspension

Must remain stock. Can weld or clamp strut to gain height. Min. bumper height 18” and max. bumper height 27”.

Tires

Any tire. Small centers are ok. Bead protectors are ok.

Frame Repair

2 plates on fresh cars! 6 plates total 4”X4”x1/4” plates total per car (must be on a legit bend). DO NOT PLATE IF IT’S NOT BENT! Factory bends don’t count! Rust repair please call.

Fuel & Battery

Fuel Cell must mount in the car. No tanks underneath! NO EXCEPTIONS!!(Doesn’t matter where you’ve run it before). Fuel cell must be covered. If leaving the fuel injected cell, then you must run high pressure line. Spend the extra money on the right stuff! Safety is PRICELESS!!

2 batteries max. and placed on passenger front floor. Battery must be covered.

2025 RULES AND REGULATIONS

General Rules Smashing Cancer Show Only !!!! Blizzard Bash Cars are allowed

***If car does not pass inspection or driver is unwilling to change car to pass inspection - absolutely no refunds!!

All rules will be followed, or you will not run!!

Any sedan or station wagon can be run.

Ages 14 –17 must have a notarized permission slip.

The person that signs in as the driver/passenger- must be the driver/passenger for that event!

Driver must wear seat belt and helmet, along with eye protection.

ALL drivers and crewmembers must attend the drivers meeting.

DO NOT hit the driver’s door! Sometimes this happens, but if it looks intentional or carelessness, you will be disqualified. Don’t use your door as a shield; it may cause you to get disqualified.

No hot rodding in the pits, keep it at an idle.

Any open driver’s door or fire will cause disqualification.

NO sandbagging or holding!!! You will be disqualified!!!

You are given 20 seconds for aggressive hits, 1 minute for restarts and 1 minute if you are hung up.

No alcohol in the pits, if anyone is caught with alcohol, they will be disqualified, this includes their pit crew.

Cars are subject to re-inspection before any prize money is handed out.

Any controversies will be taken up at the drivers meeting.

Any questions give us a call! If it doesn’t say you can do it, don’t do it. Call 1st!!

Judges decisions are FINAL!!!

CAR PREPARATION:

All cars must be stock, unless modification is stated in the rules.

Driver must have safety approved glasses or face shield. Driver needs to have FULL faced helmets.

All cars must have working brakes.

A-arms, ball joints remain stock.

All trailer hitches and braces must be removed.

Original gas tanks must be removed. You must use a boat tank or well-made fuel cell and it must be properly secured (no ratchet straps or bungees to hold the tank in place) and covered. No gas cans. Plastic gas tanks must be placed in a metal box!! Fuel line must be secured and fastened properly. Keep away from exhaust. Place fuel cell behind driver’s seat or in the center of the car where the back seat, use to be. If tank is mounted to the cage it must be at least 6" from any part of the car body. Tank must be bolted to sheet metal only!

Transmission coolers will be allowed, but must be bolted to sheet metal only!

Batteries must be moved to passenger floorboard close to transmission. It must be properly secured and covered. Battery must be in a Battery Box, and bolted to sheet metal only!

You must have a number In Bright colors on each front door and must have 15”x 15” roof sign with car number on it for judging and recognition of car.

CAGES:

You may use channel or tubing up to 6" for the door bars. Total length not to exceed 60". This bar may not be more than 18" past center post on 4 door cars and 10" behind on 2 door cars. No exceptions. Dash and seat bar may not exceed 5" diameter. Seat bar must be no further than 6" behind seat. Bars must be straight, no contoured pieces. Only sedans are allowed a gas tank protector, 24"x 6", centered in the back area. There must be a 2" space between back bar and sheet metal. May not be attached to anything other than the seat bar. All interior metal must remain stock. Do not pound. You may add a diagonal bar behind the drivers seat and directly below seat bar to the passenger floor sheet metal. You may add 2 vertical down bars to driver side door bar and 1 to passenger door bar, welded to bottom of door bars to floor sheet metal. These may not attach to or conceal a body mount. No kickers, angled or other bars off the main cage pieces. No cage components to frame. All horizontal cage components must be 8" off the floor of the car, including gas tank protector, measured at body bolt elevation. All bars must be inside car

Halo & rollover Bars: You may add a halo bar to the cage components listed above. It may not exceed 5" diameter . On a 4 door post car, this bar must be attached to the seat bar. No exceptions. On a 2 door or 4 door non post car, this bar may attach to floor sheet metal. Halo bar must be vertical line with seat bar, may not be angled toward back of car. You may bolt halo bar to roof sheet metal in 2 places.

Frames: Seams may be welded but no adding metal, no plating, heat treating or foam filling of frame. Rear frame rails may be shortened. You may notch rear frame rails but do not re- weld cut. 80's cars may tilt front ends by 2 ways;1. Cold pinch, no adding metal. 2. You may only cut the outside flap and pull down front end moving the flap a 1/2" and only re-weld the flap. Do not re-weld any other crush box seams. 2003 and newer fords may change aluminum engine cradles with a stock car cradle. It must be in stock location with only 12" weld max. All other components must be bolted in with stock size bolts. No added metal, braces or gussets. If frame is bent badly you may add a 5"x 5" plate same thickness as frame on one side only of frame, not top or bottom. If rusty call. All full-size k-frame MOPARS may run the k-frame tight to the frame and weld them together with no more than three 4"x4"x1/4" plates per side.

Body Bolts & Mount: All body bolts may be replaced with up to 1" bolts, washer or plate size 5" x 5" x 3/16" Core support bolts may be 1" diameter, these bolts may go through hood and count as 2 of your 6 hold downs, you may use pipe up to 1 1/2" OD between frame and core support. Bodys Mounts may be taken out. Do not weld body washers to floor, No welding body to frame.

Bodies: No seam welding or bolting of body seams. Body creasing, enhancing lines and addition of body lines is allowed. Do not fold the metal over to create a double effect. Trunk lid seams must be clearly visible and accessible. Quarters panels must remain vertical, no doubling body panels. Core support welding not allowed. No foam filled panels. No plating floor pans .If rusty call.

Doors: May be welded solid on outside only. except drivers door may be welded on inside, may use 3"x 3/16" flat strap or 3/8" re-bar to fill gap. If not welded must be chained or wired, 2 per seam. Doors may be folded and welded at top.

Trunk lids: May be tucked 50% and must have hinges. May have 4 hold downs, 1" threaded rod, may be welded to rear frame rails and go through trunk lid, trunk plates no bigger than 5"x 5"x 3/16", all hold downs must be straight up and down, no plates directly under trunk lid. you may also weld 5" on 5" off with 2" x 1/8" flat strap max. Your trunk lid may be V'ed in center but must at least 12" off Trunk body mount location, speaker deck can be 10". No fully wedged cars, rear quarters and light valance must remain vertical.

Hoods: May have 6 hold downs no exceptions 1" threaded rod, front 2 may go through core support and frame mounts, other 4 may be welded to sides of frame, go through frame or welded to top of frame no adding plate first, hood plates no bigger than 5"x 5"x 1/4", no plates directly under hood. All threaded rod must be straight up and down and in engine compartment, can be next to fire wall but not welded to it, or you may use 6" angles and 1- 3/8" bolt or 3/8" chain, or any combination of 6. front lip may be bent down but hood must be in stock location.

Header holes and fire hole: May have 4-3/8" bolts to hold inner to outer, if hood holes are rolled or folded over do not weld or bolt.

Fenders and quarters: May be trimmed and may be bolted to inner to outer with 6-3/8" bolts, no higher than 5" from original wheel opening, threads must point in. (No Exceptions)

Wagon tailgates: Must be in stock location, may weld 5" on 5" off on out side only with 2"x 1/8" flat strap and you may use 4-3/8" chains 2 per side and may not connect.

Windshield bars: May have 2 , must be 18" apart at bottom, bars may not connect, no cross bars. May have 1 rear window bar in center of opening, material no bigger than 2"x 1/4" round or square, welded or bolted in, windshield bars may not be further then 2" from window openings. May have driver door window netting only.

BUMPERS:

Loaded and seam welded bumpers allowed, . Stock appearing bumpers from the front!!! We will allow you to take any bumper apart. Weld any material you would like up to 5 inch max depth material to the inside of the bumper chrome skin, weld the chrome skin back into place. Metal inside of the bumper must fit the contour of the stock outer chrome! No changing angles of skin!

Any Automotive bumper brackets may be used on any car, 20 inches in total max length starting from bumper, may use ¼ thick- 5 inch wide- 20 inches long home-made flat plate for bracket to side of frame (Only 1 set of brackets may be used homemade or factory).. When welding bumpers to the shocks and brackets – Weld them well; we don’t want any bumpers falling off! You are allowed wire from radiator support to front bumper in 4 locations.

Bumper height max 28" to the top of the bumper, rear frame rails must be minimum of 14 inches to bottom of frame to ground. Chrysler “Y” frame cars will be allowed to weld a 5”x9”x ¼” plate on the top OR bottom of the “Y” opening. No bumper brackets will be allowed if the plate is used. Or can collapse y and weld top seam only and use bracket rule.

Rear bumper may have 2 straps, 2- chains or 2-wires (4 loops) from trunk deck to bumper. You can only have 1 of the 3 used, NOT all 3! Straps can be up to 3” wide and no more than 5” on the bumper and 5” on the trunk. Straps may be up to ¼” thick

Motors & Transmissions: Any motor or transmission combination, no sliding the motor back, may have solid motor mounts, welded or chained to engine cross-member, not to frame rails. Engine cradles may go from motor mount to motor mount under the motor bolted or welded to engine cradle on frame. May brace from front of motor to frame rail using 1"x 1/2" flat strap or 3/8" chain, no angling forwards or backwards if no cradle. Any part of motor may be modified.

If you run a DP do not mount your dash bar closer than 5" to rear most point of firewall/cowl, or you will not run. Distributor protector allowed, must be attached to motor or transmission, top side behind cap no wider then 12", if dash is not cut out and DP touches dash bar after derby you will not be disqualified. It may not be welded, bolted or connected to body, hood or frame. Forward supports must be in side normally positioned headers and not extend past water pump. You may beat flat the engine side of firewall/cowl. Do not re-enforce the firewall/cowl or relocate firewall must stay in original stock location . Must have an air cleaner. No skid plates. No engine oil coolers.

You may have kickers from dash bar to no closer than 4" behind a frame. These may be up to 2 1/2 "x 2 1/2 " square tubing. They must be welded to top of frame only (no gusset). If your motor has a DP it must be at least 4" from firewall or firewall cut for DP to pass through. If you decide to run a DP tight to firewall no kickers will be aloud. This is to allow a non high dollar car to compete. ( only one method or the other!)

Transmissions, transmission protectors allowed must have 3 relief cuts in trans tunnel 12” long by 1 “ wide front to back , cannot be mounted to frame, body or motor besides bellhousing bolts, transmission coolers allowed but must be secured in a container in passenger side of car, steel or braided lines must be used, no fuel line.

You may run a stock radiator or radi-barrel. Radi-barrel must have some sort of pressure release valve, or you will not run!

Radi-barrels: No welding of radi-barrels to the car at all! May be bolted in 6 spots to core support.

Stock radiator: If you run a stock radiator, you may use 1/4" max thickness material in front or the back of radiator only (has to be mounted to the core support), The material can be 2" bigger than the radiator on all sides. May be bolted in 6 spots but no welding of material at all.

Rear-ends: Any 8 lug rear-end, rear-ends may have bracing, may use a 5"x 5" square tube, must be welded to the housing, not hanging off of it and 6" from backing plates. Aftermarket rear ends allowed allowed. Posse allowed. Floater rear-ends allowed must be 5 lug. May use slider drive shaft.

Suspension: Must be stock car parts. No coil to leaf conversions in old iron cars, 9 leaf max. 5/16" max thickness, 2 1/2" max wide. 58" min. and 60" max length. Stagger 3" rear of axle, 2" front of axle. Stock mounting plates must be used. No home mounting plates and no over sized u-bolts, No welding on spring pack. No flat sprung cars, leaf packs must have a min. of 2" arch, leaf springs must be in factory position. 80's cars may leaf, 5/16" thick, 2 1/2" wide, 9 leaf max. 48" length min. eyelet to eyelet. 2" stagger front and rear. min. 2" arch. Rear and front mounts may not re-enforce frame. 80's cars not running leafs may use hump plates, you are allowed 1/4" by 22" hump plate, contoured to the hump, centered and welded with one pass of 1/4" weld. This plate may be welded to outside of frame only, match the factory hump and span the center of the hump. Do not weld any seams on rear of the car. 4 leaf spring clamps per side, clamp material 1/4" thick 2" wide, 2-3/8" bolts per clamp. No chains from leaf to frames. No double mains or leaf on top of main leaf. You may reinforce your tie-rods, but must use stock OEM tie-rod ends. You may have 2-3/8" chains from rear-end to body. You may lengthen or shorten your trailing arms, with same size material. No solid arms. You may change coil springs, rear coil springs may be welded or wired in, spring spacers allowed. No solid shocks. Taping leaf springs after inspection ok. May use one bolt in center of upper a-arm to spring bucket or 2-3/8" chain or 2-1" flat straps welded to outside of upper a-arms and to spring bucket, not to frame rails, to help hold suspension solid.

Watts link conversion for fords. May convert to 4 link or leaf, 4 link systems may be converted the following way, use the upper and lower trailing brackets off and older Ford, after market brackets allowed, but no thicker than 1/4" and be attached with 3-1/2" bolts each bracket. No shortening of trailing arms, no positioning of bracket to strengthen the front dog legs of rear humps, brackets must be in stock location.

Steering wheel to steering box may be modified.

Tires & Wheels: No fluid-filled, cement, solid or studded tires, you are allowed double stuffed, foam filled and skid-loader tires. Open class 30" tall tires max. No solid steel wheels. You may run valve stem protectors. No wheel weights.

You are allowed 2 spots with 4 loops of wire (no cable or chain) in each window opening and may go to the frame. No welding washers around holes on car body. Cannot be attached to cage at all

2025 Rules
Farm Trucks ½ ton ONLY

  1. May use any loaded or factory style replica bumper on the front. Rear bumper must be stock bumper or 4 in square tubing. 4 Inch Long Bumper Bracket height of the frame 1 side only. May not be used to box in the frame. You can also put a 4”x4” piece of tubing on instead.
  2. Motor swaps are allowed, lower block saver only, Rubber mounts only. May have 1 chain per side head to frame. 1 bolt or may weld 1 link of chain to frame
  3. You may weld the front suspension to gain ride height.
  4. No braced rear-ends allowed, 5 or 6 lugs only. NO 8 lugs are allowed. May use small 8 inch weld in center in a stock rim. NO SPLIT RIMS
  5. A 4-point cage with a rollover bar in the box is allowed. May have 2 down bars in the cab may be welded to the top of the frame. The rollover loop in the box can be no wider than the frame rails and no further back than 2 feet from the cab. Roll bar must be bolted in.
  6. You can add (4) cab bolts and (4) box bolts or chains 1 inch threaded rod with plates no larger than 5in x 5in 3/8 thick. No Sleeving of the bolts with tubing no using multiple nuts to act as a pin thru frame.
  7. The cab and the box must be chained together or can 1inch threaded rod in 4 locations with plates no larger than 5in x 5in. Drivers door may be welded shut. Passenger side door can be welded 5 on 5 off
  8. No radi-barrels allowed.
  9. May run slider drive shaft
  10. Aftermarket steering columns can be used from the box to steering wheel factory.
  11. May fold box sides over behind the back side of the rear wheel wells No bolting the sides down no adding metal in the folds. No laying the tailgate on top of the fold and bolting or welding it. If you choose not to fold box sides you may weld tailgate 5in on 5 in off outside of the tail gate only. With material no wider than 3in. NO Dropping of the tail gate No welding tailgate to bumper.
  12. You may use aftermarket gas and brake pedals, shifter, headers, and transmission coolers.
  13. Gas tanks and battery must be moved to inside the cab and box.
  14. No welding anywhere on frame unless it says you can in the rules. This is a simple throw together build! If you make it more than that you will be on the trailer!
  15. Hoods may have (2) 1” threaded rod in front that goes to frame, and (4) more chains to hold hood down. If you want to use all chain, then (6) spots total.
  16. You are allowed 4 clamps per leaf spring pack, you choose where to put them.
  17. We will allow the bare minimum to repair them for another run. Call if you have any questions. This class is simple and should be cheap and easy! 1⁄2 ton trucks are everywhere and cheap. You will be allowed 6 fix-it plates only on a bend if not bent plate will come off no larger then 6x6 plates

Just like before there has to be a minimum of 5 cars in a class to get posted payout if there is not 5 cars in a class the payout will be adjusted. People need to remember we are trying to raise money for breast cancer so it is not like anybody is putting the money in their pockets. Saturday March 8th 2025-Pit gate opens at 9 a.m. and Demo Derby begins at 1 p.m.
