GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS PROGRAM
The Mower County Fair Board is proud to present the Mower County Fair attractions and exhibits.
Full details will be announced in the press of this area, over radio and television stations and on the
website www.mowercountyfair.com. Full information will be sent to individuals upon request.
General announcements of the program will be found throughout this document.
➢ GATES
The Fair will be in operation Tuesday - Saturday 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Sunday from 7:30 a.m. to
5:00 p.m.
➢ GENERAL NOTICE
The management will appreciate immediate report by patrons experiencing any mistreatment or
extortion at the hands of any employee or concessionaire at the fair. Please report any irregularity
to the Board immediately. No liquor of any type will be allowed on the Grounds except for that
which is purchased in the beer garden or grandstand or designated by the Fair Board. There will
be no exceptions. Shirts and shoes required. No animals will be allowed on the fairgrounds
during the week of the fair except those involved in exhibition. ATMs are available on grounds
near the Grandstand and by the security office. Because many fairgoers have cell phones, there is
no public telephone on the fairgrounds. For emergencies contact the security office. No
duplication of tickets or passes will be allowed.
➢ POLICING AND LIABILITY
Every precaution for safety of visitors and exhibits will be taken, but the Board assumes no
liability for personal injury or for loss or damage of any property of the concessionaires,
exhibitors or fair patrons due to theft, fire, tornado, flash floods, weather conditions or any other
cause. The society will provide proper policing for night and day but will not be responsible for
any loss or damage to articles and animals.
➢ LOST AND FOUND
Is located in the security office on the fair grounds.
➢ CONCESSION POSTINGS
All concessions shall post in a conspicuous place in front of the entrance to their place of business
a sign giving prices to be charged for meals, drinks, lunches or other articles offered for sale.
➢ SOLICITING
There will be no permission given for the soliciting of subscriptions on the grounds. NO
PERSON, PARTIES OR ORGANIZATIONS SHALL DISTRIBUTE ANY KIND OF LITERATURE
OR SELL ANY ITEMS OTHER THAN FROM A PAID CONCESSION LOCATION. THEY
SHALL REMAIN IN THIS LOCATION AT ALL TIMES.
➢ SUBLETTING SPACE
Space of any kind cannot be assigned, sublet, disposed of or transferred without the written
consent of the commercial space superintendents.
➢ EXHIBIT/DISPLAY POLICY
No commercial booths or displays may be set up or operated by 4-H and FFA exhibitors, other
than in commercial exhibit areas on the fairgrounds where space has been rented from the
Mower County Fair, unless prior approval is obtained from the Mower County Fair Board.
➢ EXHIBITS LEFT AFTER FAIR
Any person, corporation, or club owning any property left on the grounds two weeks after the
close of the fair without having approval of the fair board to leave the same shall forfeit the same
to the fair board for removal with a charge. Arrangements agreeable to both parties where it so
applies will be made for disposing of equipment.
➢ CONCESSIONS AND PRIVILEGES
The Fair Board will use every precaution to guard against extortion in any form practiced upon
any patron of the Fair. A violation of this rule by any concessionaire will cause cancellation of
his/her contract, forfeiture of all money paid and expulsion from the grounds as the
management may direct. The Fair Board authorizes the leasing of only such concession privileges
as are required to supply the necessary desires of public or that may add to their comfort,
convenience and pleasure. Under no circumstances will privileges of a demoralizing nature be
tolerated upon the fair-grounds or in any of the buildings. No concession will be permitted to
operate unless operated in a legitimate and businesslike manner. Standards of quality will be
enforced. All cook houses, lunch rooms, refreshment booths and other stands must be substantial
in structure and their appearance must meet the approval of the Fair Board. All such concession
stands may sell only good wholesome food and pure honest merchandise at a reasonable price.
Prices must be posted. All articles of food and drink must be kept under glass or screen. Any
representative of the Mower County Fair Board shall have access to premises at all times. Each
concessionaire must confine themselves to the space assigned. Failure to do so may subject them
to cancellation of their contract without reimbursement. Booths and concessions must be
manned during all hours the fair is in operation. All concessionaires must stay during the
duration of the fair. The operator of a loud speaker shall control volume so as not to interfere
with other concessions or become a nuisance to fair patrons
➢ PARKING
Paid parking will be allowed in the parking lots on the grounds. The only vehicles allowed on
streets will be service trucks during specific hours and emergency vehicles. THERE IS LIMITED
HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE AVAILABLE at the regular charge near the Creative Arts
and Horticulture Buildings. Motorcycle parking is available in the fairgrounds lots. Absolutely
NO motorcycle parking will be allowed along the fairgrounds fence or boulevard. Two wheeled
vehicles, bicycles, ATVs, golf carts, roller skates, skateboards, long boards, roller blades or
scooters WILL NOT be allowed on the grounds from August 1-21 other than those operated
by fair personnel or approved by the fair board President.
➢ OVERNIGHT LIVESTOCK PARKING INFORMATION
Purchasers will be allowed ONE overnight parking space and it must be occupied by a unit
suitable for clothes changing and showering/ bathing. Electrical service is available but not
guaranteed. No pass will utilize more than one electrical connection. There are no water or sewer
hook ups. The parking pass must list emergency contact information and must be displayed in
the window of the unit.
THERE WILL BE NO ADDITIONAL VEHICLES ALLOWED TO
PARK IN OVERNIGHT PARKING
. The fair board reserves the right to revoke passes without
refund in case of violation of policies.
➢ PROPERTIES ON FAIRGROUNDS
All properties on the fairgrounds of a permanent structure or attached to permanent buildings
are the property of the County of Mower and under jurisdiction of the board of directors of the
Mower County Agricultural Society. The rules and regulations of the Society have the force of
common law of the State of Minnesota as defined by Minnesota Statutes.
➢ INTERPRETATION OF RULES
The management will not be responsible for typographical errors in this book, but should any
occur, same will be interpreted by the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors reserves the
final and absolute right to interpret these rules and regulations and determine all matters,
questions and differences in regard thereto or otherwise arising out of an incident at the fair.
➢ WEATHER CLAUSE
If from stormy weather or other causes, the receipts will not pay for the premiums awarded, the
premiums will be paid by an equal division of the receipts to the exhibitors, who have been
awarded premiums, after paying the expenses of the fair
